Flooding is likely across parts of the Caribbean this weekend. Life-threatening flooding is a risk at river crossings. Quick rises are possible! Please use caution!
Haiti, Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico: Isolated downpours will lead to sharp rises of rivers and streams. Even if it is not raining where you are, rain from another nearby storm could quickly cause a river to rise. Over 100 mm (4 inches) of rain is possible in siolated areas.
Costa Rica, Panama, Colombia, Venezuela: An area of low pressure will bring downpours. Isolated flooding likely from the southern end of Costa Rica, stretching back into Venezuela.
Looking ahead: The rain will increase for Trinidad and Tobago on Sunday. Also, an area of low pressure may develop into a tropical or subtropical storm next week, off the coast of Florida and the Carolinas… more rain for Berumda and The Bahamas!
Please be safe! Thank you. – Brian
