Kenya’s main opposition leader has branded the presidenital election re-run a sham, and called for a new vote within 90 days. Raila Odinga met supporters in Nairobi, a day after voting in opposition strongholds was suspended due to violence. So far, the election commission is putting President Uhuru Kenyatta ahead with 97 percent of the vote.
Odinga spoke out against the post-election violence that has left at least 6 dead.
But in an interview with Al Jazeera, Kenya’s Deputy President William Ruto claimed that Odinga was sponsoring armed militias that prevented many people from voting.
