The UN estimates that 146,000 Rohingya have crossed from Myanmar into Bangladesh since August 25, with aid agencies saying that the camps are at a breaking point.
There are also reports that landmines were placed along the Rakhine state border to stop the Rohingya refugees from returning.
Meanwhile, in a meeting with India’s prime minister, Myanmar’s civilian leader Aung San Suu Kyi said that the military is just protecting the country from “terrorism”.
